After a senior career in retail leadership roles where she held field and head office roles leading operational teams during the growth of Next, managed department stores with House of Fraser, and enjoyed field management with Arcadia she moved into recruitment when becoming a Mum.
A Coach helped her identify what changes would support her enjoyment of working with people whilst also wanting to be part of family life – and recruitment was a great choice, offering flexibility (yes still long hours but malleable to the needs of family!), kept her involved with retail and the energy of a commercial sector she loved. She qualified as am ILM7 Coach in 2006, and having chosen to leave recruitment recently added a Firework licensed career coach qualification as her enjoyment of people being in the perfect career is something she is passionate about. - Executive Coaching identifies objectives for each person individually; identifying where investment or energy is required to achieve them and creating a clear action plan.

The coaching process
There are options for the the process to be either c.3 or 6 months; this depends on the goals set and timings can be extended. These will be confidential coaching sessions between the Coach and the Coachee, with a Coaching contract agreed to in advance by them which clearly outlines the personal development goals for the programme.
Each session lasts between 60- 90 minutes and we work with the coachee to identify their goals and skills, and how they are contributing to the organisation by using accredited tools which identify potential opportunities for growth.
At Elevate Careers Denise is Accredited to ILM Level 7 and additionally Licensed by Firework Coaching, which is an international Career Coaching programme, providing a proven framework and set of tools, all accredited by The International Coaching Federation (ICF).
As a licensed Career Development coach with the Firework group; Denise uses these ICF accredited programme tools which provide a proven framework to support career development and personal growth. The Firework exercises are designed to support bright, motivated people bring out their creativity and resourcefulness whilst supporting their next steps in career development and personal growth and require the individual to complete self-reflection work in advance of sessions.
A fundamental step in any change or growth process is to develop and improve self-awareness. In Personal Development Coaching the MBTI assessment, gives awareness about one’s own and others’ predilections to behave in specific ways. This information can then be used to improve
interpersonal skills, manage conflict, improve relationships, and inform career choices. I will work with current psychometrics or will suggest investment.
No matter where you are in life focusing on your character strengths adds a whole new dimension. Recent research shows that when you understand and activate your positive personality traits, you become more resilient, manage stress better, and find greater fulfilment in life overall. In this programme we use the VIA Institute on Character test to identify strength’s and opportunities to raise awareness of, optimise or suggest techniques to improve characteristics.
Coaching is primarily online, however dependant on location, in-person meetings can be accommodated within the M25. as well as one-one, group-based coaching is also offered.
